About the PEI Environmental Health Co-op
The PEI Environmental Health Co-operative (PEIEHC) provides information regarding research and therapies to help those affected by allergies and environmental sensitivities.
We work with others to educate the general public about the health effects of the many contaminants in our environment, from personal care and household cleaning products to pesticides.
We promote increased respect for the rights of the environmentally sensitive.
We advocate on behalf of the vulnerable to call for change when problems of air or water quality arise.
We support lifestyle choices aimed at improving the quality of our environment.
- Support for you and your family
- Access to information on research and available treatments
- Public education to increase public awareness
- Assistance by advocating for change when problems arise
The PEIEHC meets monthly throughout the year except in the summer.Check out the Events list on the right for upcoming meeting dates.
There are 4 main sections based on areas of interest:
(A) Atmosphere - dealing with anything around us, incl. pesticides, air quality, scents
(B) Building - related to houses, building materials, cleaning products
(C) Consumer Products - dealing with things from food/drink to personal care products, toys, etc.
(D) Distribution - including the website, newsletter, volunteers, members, miscellaneous
Each topic has a lead person responsible for recruiting help for projects, sending meeting agenda items to the secretary, and reporting on project progress at monthly meetings (though anyone can report for each group).
Contact us if you are interested in joining one or more of the 4 sections (ABCD).
