Contact us for more information and to find out how to get involved.

WE NEED VOLUNTEERS TO...

  • interact with people affected by environmental exposure to toxins
  • participate in short-term, focused projects
  • aid in composing promotional material and newsletters
  • help organize the 2013 Dandelion Festival (Spring 2013)
  • make phone calls, write letters
  • present the Co-op at public events (e.g. with information booths)
  • bring a fresh perspective and new ideas
  • help with fundraising

BY VOLUNTEERING FOR THE CO-OP, YOU WILL…

  • learn more about how your environment affects your health
    • e.g. toxins in personal care products, off-gassing from building materials, effects of pesticides sprayed on the lawns next door
  • help other Islanders prevent environmental health issues
  • add valuable volunteer experience to your resume

THE TYPE OF WORK YOU'LL BE INVOLVED IN:

  • Lobbying the PEI government to introduce a ban against cosmetic pesticides (i.e. those used to make the lawn look greener)
  • Hosting the Dandelion Festival - a festival held in the spring with a focus on environmental health in your house, garden and personal care products.  The festival includes workshops, information booths, food, music and children activities.
  • Cooperating with the Wilena MacDougall Environmental Health Resource Center in establishing a resource library with environmental health related books.
  • Hosting workshops/seminars by experts in environmental health issues.
  • Conducting special projects e.g. focusing on the health of newborns and children.
